“Can this wall come out?”
That question kicks off many remodeling conversations. Sometimes ‘yes’, other times ‘no’, but even if that wall is load-bearing, we seek ways to open up spaces in many homes. It’s surprising how much removing a small portion of wall can impact a space, resulting in not only a kitchen remodel, but a total main level transformation. Many of the accompanying photos show examples of homes that have been converted into an open plan.
Expanded showers, double vanities and body-hugging bathtubs are a common trend. Roman style tub decks are being replaced by stylish freestanding baths. Showers are doubling and tripling in size with walk-in designs sporting multiple shower heads and hand-held sprays. It doesn’t take a giant-sized room to accomplish change. With careful planning the smaller bathroom can share some of the same features. Big or small, each bathroom receives the newest look of tile, glass and creative plumbing fixtures.
Whether you’re adding space to a newer home or a century old classic, properly blending the new with the old is our goal. The accompanying portfolio of project photos show a variety of addition scenarios. Finishing a lower level is a cost-effective way of expanding living space and adding market value to a home, whether it’s full blown with fireplaces and kitchens, or a simple space for kids to play.
